DAVE BEDORE STRETCH LIMO DESIGN -  6 PLY EPOXY / FIBERGLASS CONSTRUCTION

 

This deck measures 33" LONG x 10" WIDE with a 7.5" LONG TAIL - 18" WHEEL BASE and a 3.25" NOSE.  NEW SCHOOL TRUCK HOLE DRILLING.

 

This Official UWS deck features our classic construction of 6 ply FiberGlass / Epoxy.   2 layers of Fiberglass for added strength provide bit of extra stiffness while still allowing for our very nice gentle "Flex" feel / rebound that is missing from the majority of 7 ply water based adhesive decks on the market.

 

This deck is our Series 1-A 2022 Concave.   This concave is an "upgraded" version of our Classic UWS Series 1 Concave from the early 1980's.  It's got aproximately 10 mm of concave depth at your front foot area.  Comfortable, yet still enough concave to hold your foot in place.  The tail has aproximately 2.5mm of concave as well. 

 

This particular deck comes with a unique "Custom Finish"

 

My 40 + years of skateboarding experience, which includes skating almost every kind of terrain imaginable, has led me to, what I believe, is a great "alternative" deck for many of us older / mature skaters.  There are exceptions of course, but as a general rule of thumb, as we skaters get on in years, our sense of balance tends to waver a bit.  Slamming / Falling Hard can be a real and valid concern.  Hence my DESIGN PRINCIPLE, of a relatively conventionaly shaped deck, with a slightly extended wheelbase....  While "POP DECKS" are all the rage with the current younger crowd, (for good reasons), I feel the current "POP DECK" design is not what's "practical" for us over 50 skaters.  Like I said before.... There are some older guys who are riding pop deck setups and shredding hard, and that's great and all, but in my opinion, that is not the norm for us older dudes.  My experience has shown me that the majority of us over 50 skaters don't really "need" any substantial nose kick.  In many ways we can benefit from a slightly more "DRAWN OUT" design to keep us steady and condfident as we keep skating as long as humanly possible.  We keep skating not only because we LOVE it.... but because we "NEED" it.  For us "REAL SKATERS", that last "NEED" reference, requires no explanation.  In that sense, we are just like our younger counterparts, but at the same time, some of us realize that we have "Specialized Needs" when it comes to our setups.  This is what the Uncle Wiggley Skateboards - "Dave Bedore Stretch Limo Design" is all about.  Take it or leave it.  All this is just my opinion.  Your own opinion is yours and I respect that.  To Each His / Her Own.
